Report: Giants To Target Young Guards In Free Agency

Jordan Raanan of NJ.com reports that the Giants intend to “attack free agency” by targeting some of the best young guards available in the free agent market.

Raanan specifically mentions that Jon Asamoah (Chiefs), Geoff Schwartz (Chiefs), Chad Rinehart (Chargers), Zane Beadles (Broncos) and Shawn Lauvao (Browns) could all be on their radar in the coming weeks.

As for offensive tackle, Rannan mentions that the Giants are not expected to get involved in the more expensive tackle market.

This coincides with a report from Tony Pauline of DraftInsider.net last night that mentioned the Giants would look for guards in free agency.

Pauline also mentioned that Geoff Schwartz has received “heavy interest” at the combine and is likely to be playing elsewhere next year.

We have Asamoah, Schwartz and Beadles listed in our Top 100 Free Agents list.
