  • Jason La Canfora reports that Jaguars are picking up $2.2 million of Monroe’s contract, which means the Ravens will pay him only $715,000.

The Jaguars will now have ten draft picks to work with next season, which also includes a pick they received from the Lions.

  • Ravens HC John harbaugh mentioned that the trade will be finalized today or tomorrow,as they still need to work out some “contractual stuff,” per Aaron Wison.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Jacksonville Jaguars have agreed in principle to trade OT Eugene Monroe to the Baltimore Ravens, pending a physical.

  • Albert Breer reports that Jacksonville receives “two mid-round picks” in return for Monroe.
  • Alex Marvez reports that the Ravens will send two picks to the Jaguars.
  • Jason La Canfora reports that the two sides are still in “active talks” and are hashing out details regarding compensation.
  • Rapoport adds that Monroe will head to Baltimore tomorrow morning to complete the trade.
  • Aaron Wilson reports that Monroe is “100 percent healthy ready to go.
  • Passing the required physical is not expected to be an issue, according to Aaron Wilson.
  • Brian McIntyre notes that Monroe will make $2.9 million for the rest of the season.

Monroe, 26, is entering the final year of contract and will be an unrestricted free agent following the 2013 season. Last year, Pro Football Focus had Monroe listed as the No. 15 offensive tackle in the league. However, he’s gotten off to a slow start, but that could always be attributed to being on an underwhelming offensive unit.

This trade likely marks the end of Bryant McKinnie manning Baltimore’s left tackle spot.

Jacksonville spent their No. 2 overall on Luke Joeckel, so they clearly have a long-term prospects at the position.

We have Monroe listed as the No. 8 player in our Top 50 – NFL Free Agents list.
