Report: Jairus Byrd Will Not Report For The Start Of Training Camp

Tim Graham of the Buffalo News reports that two sources have informed him that franchised S Jairus Byrd will not be attendance for the start of training camp.

  • The Bills and Byrd’s representatives have not made any progress towards a long-term agreement.
  • Ian Rapoport reports that “all is not well between Jairus Byrd and Bills.”
  • Rapoport adds that there has no communication between the two parties.

Byrd, 26, is the last of eight players to receive a franchised to sign his tender. The Bills cannot fine him for skipping practices because he is technically not holding out. Buffalo is currently implementing Mike Pettine’s new defensive scheme, so having Byrd in attendance is fairly important.
