Report: Jets Nearly Traded For WR Braylon Edwards

Jason La Canfora reports that the New York Jets were interested in trading completing a trade with Seahawks for former WR Braylon Edwards.

During the early stages of the season, the Jets were reportedly interested in making a deal with the Seahawks for Edwards after they lost Santonio Holmes for the season. Seattle, however, was not willing to let Edwards go for a mere late-round draft pick and the talks never progressed.

On Tuesday, Edwards was released, due to injury, leaving him free to rejoin the Jets, but Edwards wound up¬†insulting the Jets on Twitter, which is likely why he’s currently a free agent.
