Report: Jets Nearly Traded For WR Braylon Edwards

Jason La Canfora reports that the New York Jets were interested in trading completing a trade with Seahawks for former WR Braylon Edwards.

During the early stages of the season, the Jets were reportedly interested in making a deal with the Seahawks for Edwards after they lost Santonio Holmes for the season. Seattle, however, was not willing to let Edwards go for a mere late-round draft pick and the talks never progressed.

On Tuesday, Edwards was released, due to injury, leaving him free to rejoin the Jets, but Edwards wound up insulting the Jets on Twitter, which is likely why he’s currently a free agent.
