Report: Jets Re-Sign OLB Calvin Pace

Pro Football Talk, citing a league source, reports that the Jets have re-signed veteran OLB Calvin Pace.

  • PFT adds that Pace receives a two-year deal worth $5 million.

Jets’ HC Rex Ryan previously mentioned that he was hoping to re-sign Pace this offseason, so it’s not all that surprising that the two sides were able to get something done after the first wave of free agency passed.

Pace, 33, actually put together a very strong season for the Jets defense in 2013. He totaled 53 tackles, 10 sacks and two forced fumbles this season and was clearly one of the Jets most productive edge rusher.

Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 28 outside linebacker in a 3-4 system out of 42 qualifying players.
