Report: Jets Signing WR David Nelson

Update:

Brian Costello reports that the New York Jets will sign WR David Nelson Tuesday.

Costello adds that WR Santonio Holmes is expected to miss a few weeks with a with hamstring injury, which explains why Nelson was brought in for a workout Monday.

Nelson, 26, signed with the Browns during the offseason, but was unable to secure a roster spot. He suffered a torn ACL last season, so that probably had an impact on his overall performance.

Rich Cimini of ESPN New York reports that the Jets are showing interest in free agent WR David Nelson.

Nelson worked out for the Jets last week and with injuries to Stephen Hill (concussion) and Santonio Holmes (hamstring), it makes sense they would consider bringing in some more depth at the position.
