Jets Hire Marty Mornhinweg As Offensive Coordinator

Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News confirms that the Jets will in fact hire Marty Mornhinweg as their next offensive coordinator.

Adam Caplan reports that a source has informed him that the Jets are expected to hire former Eagles offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg to run their offense.

This would be a pretty interesting hire given that Mornhinweg’s name hasn’t come up in recent weeks a potential option. He would bring a different offensive philosophy to what has been a run-first team in the last few years.

This could fuel speculation that Michael Vick could make his way to New York, but that would require the Jets to get their terrible cap situation under control before that’s even a realistic possibility.
