Report: Jets Worked Out QB Josh Freeman, “Several” Teams Considering Him

According to Mike Freeman of the Bleacher Report, the Jets recently brought in former Buccaneers QB Josh Freeman for a workout.

  • According to Freeman, “several” other teams are taking a “hard look” at the former first-round pick.

Gil Brandt of the NFL Network reported in June of last year that Freeman was working out with former HC Jon Gruden and quarterbacks coach Terry Shea next week in an attempt to get his career back on track.

However this is the first update we’ve heard since then.

After he was cut by the Buccaneers a few years ago, things spiraled out of control for Freeman.

The Vikings wasted no time in signing him to a contract, however, it proved to be a disastrous decision for Freeman.

The Giants signed later signed him to a contract in April of last year, but he lasted a little over a month in New York before he was once again released.

In 2013, Freeman appeared in just four games and 42.9 percent of his passes for 761 yards, two touchdowns and four interceptions.

We’ll have more regarding Freeman and who could be interested as the news is available.
