Report: Jim Harbaugh Has “Very Little” Interest In College Coaching Jobs

Jason Cole of the Bleacher Report spoke to a source close to 49ers HC Jim Harbaugh about the possibility of him taking a head coaching position at the college level such as hisĀ alma mater the University of Michigan.

According to Cole’s source,Ā Harbaugh has “very little” interest inĀ coaching any college football program and getting back to recruiting high school players. Cole mentions that Harbaugh prefers to remain in the NFL, which doesn’t require him being away from his family as much.

Cole doesn’t completely rule out a potential return to the college level and admits that things could always “implode” in regards to his situation with the 49ers. If that were to happen and he couldn’t find an “adequate deal” in the NFL, he would likely consider all opportunities.

Interestingly enough, Cole believes the Dolphins could be a team to watch next year if they continue to struggle this season.

Harbaugh and the 49ers have said publicly on numerous occasions that they would like to get a long-term deal done at some point in the near future, but there has been little reported progress since the offseason. He still has another year remaining on his contract, so this figures to be a popular topicĀ over the next year or so.
