Report: Jonathan Vilma’s Reps Reached Out To The Dolphins, But Found No Interest

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports that former Saints ILB Jonathan Vilma had his representation reach out to the Dolphins about possibly signing him to a contract.

According to Jackson, the Dolphins showed “no interest” in signing Vilma.

Vilma’s agents have been working to drum up interest in their client. ESPN’s Adam Schefter passed along word that Vilma is now “healthy and ready” after missing pretty much the entire 2013 season.

This came in response to the news that Cowboys MLB Sean Lee is expected to miss the 2014 season with a torn left ACL that he suffered in OTAs last week.

Vilma, 32, hasn’t found any reported interest the entire offseason, but there could end up being increased interest in free agents now that it’s June 1 and signing players won’t count against a team’s 2015 compensatory formula.

It’s worth mentioning that Vilma has missed 25 games over the course of the past three seasons.

We have him listed as the No. 50 player in our recently updated Top 50 – Best Available Free Agents list.
