Dolphins Officially Sign TE Jordan Cameron To A Two-Year, $15M Deal

Update:

Charles RobinsonĀ is now reporting that the deal is done. Jordan Cameron has signed with the Miami Dolphins.

Charles Robinson reports that free agent TE Jordan Cameron will be signing with the Dolphins, and not the Browns like previous reports had said.

Ian RapoportĀ first reported that the Browns hadĀ re-signed Cameron to a two-year contract worth $15 million.

  • However, two league sources are telling Robinson that the report is inaccurate and he is in the process of finalizing a contract with the Dolphins instead.
  • Rapoport has confirmed the report and adds that Dolphins jumped into the mix and are nowĀ negotiating with him.
  • Mary Kay Cabot reports that the Browns never confirmed the deal
  • According to Mike Garafolo,Ā Cameron’s agreement with the Browns was “news to the Browns,” as they hadn’t heard back from his agent regarding their offer.

Pro Football Talk reports that if the Dolphins sign Cameron to a contract, they would likely remove the transition tag from TE Charles Clay. PFT adds thatĀ Clay could blowup the talks between CameronĀ and the Dolphins byĀ signing the transition tender.

Cameron visited with the Dolphins on Thursday, which seemed like a leverage play by Miami to get Clay to agree to a long-term deal.

Now it appears as though the Browns and Bills could both be fighting over Clay in the coming weeks.

Cameron, 26,Ā was limited to appearing in 10 games and catching 24 passes for 424 yards receiving to go along with two touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 56 tight end out of 67 qualifying players.

We hadĀ Cameron listed as the No. 22 player in our Top 100Ā Free Agents list.
