Report: Josh Gordon Will Be Allowed To Attend Team Facilities During Suspension With New Drug Policy

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports that the new rules included in the Drug Policy being discussed by the NFL and NFLPA would allow Browns WR Josh Gordon to be at the team’s facility while serving his suspension.

This is reportedly something the Browns were pushing for given that he was is currently barred from being at any of the team’s facilities.

It’s worth mentioning that an agreement has yet to be reached between the two parties, but recent reports have indicated that a deal could be in place at some point in the next few days.

Mary Kay Cabot reported a few days ago that Gordon has been notified that his suspension will be reduced to 10 games once the new Drug Policy is finalized.

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk confirmed that report and added that Gordon is also subject to a two-game suspension for a DUI arrest. However, unlikely that the pending charges will be applied during the 2014 regular season, according to Florio.

Gordon’s suspension stems from a failed drug test during the 2013 season, which is why his ban is only being reduced while others will have their suspensions lifted by the league.

Even so, this is better news than what many expected just a few weeks ago.

We’ll post more updates here as the news is available.
