Report: Josh Johnson Agrees To Terms With The Bengals

Jenna Laine of the Sports Xchange reports that the Bengals have reached an agreement with free agent QB Josh Johnson.

Laine adds that Johnson will receive a two-year deal from Cincinnati.

Johnson, 26, worked out for the Bengals on Thursday and with the Ryan Fitzpatrick signing with the Titans, it makes sense to see them move quickly to get a backup quarterback in place, even if it’s not their first choice.

Johnson was signed by the Browns towards the end of the season, but with the Browns gutting their front office, it was doubtful he would be re-signed. Johnson is a great athlete, but has a much a different skill set than that of Andy Dalton. Clearly, the plan is for him to not see any playing time next season.
