Report: Patriots Have Considered Free Agent WR Lance Moore In The Past Week

Update:

According to Ben Volin of the Boston Globe, the Patriots have “checked out” free agent WR Lance Moore in the past week.

  • Volin adds that the Patriots have also considered veteran receivers Kenny Britt and Jason Avant as well.

Jason La Canfora reported a few days ago that Moore is visiting with the Steelers on Tuesday.

Moore, 30, was one of a number of cap causalities for the Saints this offseason. Since being released, there hasn’t been a lot of buzz regarding options for him, so we’ll have to see how things go with the Steelers.

Pittsburgh reportedly still has interest in re-signing veteran WR Jerricho Cotchery who is coming off of a solid season for them.

Last season, Moore caught 37 passes for 457 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 52 receiver in the league last season.

We have Moore listed as the No. 36 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
