Report: Lions Have Contacted “Multiple Teams” Regarding A Trade For A WR

Update:

Mike O’Hara reports that the Cowboys WR Miles Austin is not a trade option for the Detroit Lions.

  • O’Hara adds that Dallas has every intention of making a playoff run this year.

Austin was a speculative idea at best. We haven’t heard anything regarding the Lions specifically targeting since reports surfaced either this more morning that they had been in contact with teams regarding possible trade options.

Jason La Canfora believes the Lions are unlikely to trade for a player with off-the-field issues such as WRs Josh Gordon or Kenny Britt given that they’ve dealt with plenty of this in the past.

Tim Twentyman reports that the Detroit Lions have already been in contact with “multiple teams” regarding a possible trade for a receiver.

This comes shortly after the news broke that veteran WR Nate Burleson broke his arm in a car crash Tuesday morning and will most likely require season-ending surgery.

The Lions figure to move forward with Ryan Broyles handling their slot duties, but adding another receiver would seem like the right move.

Cleveland is reportedly fielding calls regarding their WRs Josh Gordon and Greg Little, so they could be options for the Lions. We’ll have to see if any other options surface in the near future.
