Report: Lions RB Mikel LeShoure “Wide Open” To Being Traded

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Lions RB Mikel LeShoure is “wide open” to being trade out of Detroit.

Schefter adds that LeShoure has accepted his backup role with the team, but he would like to play for someone who could use his help more than the Lions.

Detroit signed Reggie Bush to a four-year deal worth $16 million and it appears as though he’s a focal point for their offense this season. Joique Bell has been the team’s No. 2 running back option, which will likely remain the case moving forward, so LeShoure is left with a pretty limited role.

The Lions have made trades ahead of the deadline in recent years and LeShoure will make reasonable base salaries this season and next. It’s always hard to predict who will be traded in the NFL, but I’m sure we’ll be hearing more regarding LeShoure as a trade candidate in the coming weeks.
