Report: Lions Re-Signing CB Rashean Mathis

 

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Lions are re-signing veteran CB Rashean Mathis to a one-year deal.

Mathis, 32, has found no very little interest on the open market, however, the idea of him returning to Detroit came up in recent weeks, so this shouldn’t come as a huge surprise.

In 2013, he signed a one-year deal with the Lions and appeared in 15 games while contributing 47 tackles and 16 pass defenses.

Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 27 cornerback in the league last year, so this could be a good value signing for the Lions.
