Report: Lions “Seriously Considering Making A Run” At CB Brandon Flowers

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that the Lions areĀ “seriously considering making a run” at signing free agent CB Brandon Flowers.

There is already a strong market developing for the Pro Bowler’s services just a few days after the Chiefs elected to cut him loose.

Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore SunĀ reported not too long ago that 10 NFL teams have already contacted Flowers including the Lions, Ravens, Falcons and Vikings.

Detroit just parted ways with veteran CBĀ Chris Houston, so you could easily make the case that they are in need of another cornerback. You could make a strong case that Flowers would be the defensive back on the Lions roster if they are able to get him under contract.

Other teams connected to Flowers include: theĀ 49ers, Browns, Steelers, TexansĀ andĀ Titans.

Flowers, 28, is coming off of a down season, butĀ reports haveĀ mentioned thatĀ heĀ expressed a desire to leave Kansas City last season after he was forced to play in the slot.Ā Flowers has already put together a number of quality seasons in the NFL and should have plenty to offer a new team in the coming years.

Last season, Flowers appeared in 13 games and totaled 68 tackles, one sack, an interceptions and seven pass defenses for the Chiefs.

We have Flowers listed as the No. 1 playerĀ in our recently updatedĀ Top 50 – Best Available Free AgentsĀ list.
