Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reports that the Lions are expected to sign LB Josh Bynes off of the Baltimore Ravens’ practice squad.

The Lions are obviously in need of linebacker help after they lost veteran MLB Stephen Tulloch to a season-ending ACL injury.

Lions DC Teryl Austin comes from the Ravens, so I’m sure he was part of the decision to target Bynes.

Bynes, 25, signed with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent out of Auburn back in 2011. He was entering the final year of his contract and was set to make $570,000 for the 2014 season before the team waived him this past weekend. Baltimore later added Bynes to their practice quad a few weeks ago.

Last year, he appeared in 15 games and recorded 45 tackles and three pass defenses.
