ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Lions plan to sign former Raiders WR Chaz Schilens.
Detroit has met with a number of free agent receivers in the past few days, including Steve Breaston and Laurent Robinson.
The Lions could really use some additional help at receiver. Breaston is coming off of a knee injury and Robinson is trying to make a comeback after he suffered a serious a concussion that resulted in the Jaguars releasing him.
Schilens, 27, has never developed into a reliable receiver, so we’ll have to see if he’s able to impress during training camp.
