Report: Lions Trade QB Thaddeus Lewis To The Bills

Pro Football Talk is reporting that the Detroit Lions have traded QB Thaddeus Lewis to the Buffalo Bills.

  • Ian Rapoport reports that the Bills are sending veteran LB Chris White to the Lions in return for Lewis.

The Lions claimed Lewis off of waivers from the Browns back in May, so it will be interesting to see what they get in return for him.

Buffalo signed veteran QB Matt Leinart to a one-year deal earlier in the day, so they are clearly looking to add some insurance at the quarterback position now that Kevin Kolb could be out for a period of time.

There’s still some optimism that first-round pick QB E.J. Manuel will be available for their Week 1 match up against the Patriots, but that’s not a guarantee.
