Dallas, Houston, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Philadelphia & Boston Also Being Considered To Host 2015 Draft

Update:

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Chicago, Los Angeles and New York aren’t the only cities in the running to host the 2015 NFL Draft.

According to Schefter, Dallas, Houston, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Philadelphia and Boston also submitted bids to the league to put on the event next year.

The NFL is expected to make a decision in late June.

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network is reporting that the league has sent out letters to Chicago, Los Angeles and New York about potential hosting the 2015 NFL Draft.

According to Rapoport, these three cities are considered finalists to host the event as Radio City Music reportedly informed the NFL that they do not have openings in April or May of next year.

  • Mike Garafolo reports that the NFL hasn’t ruled out other locations as of now.

Rapoport adds that the NFL is now focused on two potential event dates within these three cites, which would be either April 22-25 or April 29-May 2.

There has been talk that NFL could take the draft on the road and host in multiple cities given the level of interest in the event. It is interesting, however, that they are considering dates in April as previous reports had mentioned that the league was considering sticking with a draft at some point in May, and possibly towards the end of the month.

Several cities reportedly were interested in submitting bids to host the draft, but it could prove to be a smart more to start with larger cities and see where things go from there.

We’ll have more regarding this topic as the news is available.
