Reunion Between Mario Manningham & Giants “Definitely An Option”

Update:

Aditi Kinkhabwala of the NFL Network reports that free agent WR Mario Manningham is taking a physical for the Giants Tuesday.

  • Kinkhabwala, citing a person apprised of meetings, adds that depending on how Manningham’s physical goes, a reunion is “definitely an option.”

Manningham’s name came up in recent days as potential option for the Panthers given that GM Dave Gettleman was with the Giants a few years ago, but it appears as though they may not even get a chance to meet with him.

Manningham, 27, left the Giants two years ago when signed a two-year contract worth $7.375 million with the 49ers.

He appeared in just 18 games over the course of two years in San Francisco, which is largely due to a season knee injury he suffered back in 2012.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that veteran WR Mario Manningham will visit with the Giants on Monday.

  • According to Schefter, Manningham is “highly interested” in returning to the Giants.

The Giants have been taking a look at a number of players in recent week, so it will be interesting to see if they end up bringing Manningham back now that they have lost Hakeem Nicks.
