Report: Marshawn Lynch Expected To Skip Mandatory Minicamp, Could Be Contract Related

Rand Getlin of Yahoo Sports reports that the Seahawks do not expect RB Marshawn Lynch to be attendance for mandatory minicamp.

According to Getlin, Lynch is “thought to be unhappy with his contract,” but there is a chance that he could other football-related reasons for skipping camp.

In the event Lynch does in fact skip minicamp, he could be subject to a $69,455 fine.

Lynch, 28, is entering the third year of his four-year, $31 million contract. As things stand right now, he is set to make a base salary of $5 million to go along with $500,000 in per-game roster bonuses.

Seattle has an exciting young running back that they would like to get more work in the coming years, but there is no doubt that Lynch will remain the team’s No. 1 option this season.

Last year, Lynch appeared in all 16 games and ran for 1,257 yards on 301 carries (4.2 YPC) and scored 14 total touchdowns.
