Report: Matt Schaub Will Attempt To Play With Torn Ligaments In His Ankle

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports that Texans QB Matt Schaub has torn ligaments in his ankle that he will attempt to play through.

  • Rapoport adds that Schaub may not be “right” all season.

Gary Kubiak told reporters last week that Matt Schaub is his “starting quarterback,” but added that they would evaluate Schaub and Case Keenum throughout their bye week.

Keenum managed to put together a pretty strong performance against the Chiefs defense in his NFL debut. The undrafted rookie completed 15-of-25 passes for 271 yards, one touchdown and one turnover, so their will be added on Schaub to perform at a high level in spite of his injured ankle.

We’ll have more regarding Schaub and his status for Week 9 throughout the week.
