Report: Giants Interviewing Former Texans QB Coach Karl Dorrell For OC Job

Update:

Ian Rapoport reports that the Giants are interviewing former Buccaneers OC Mike Sullivan and former Titans OC Dowell Loggains on Wednesday.

  • Rapoport adds that Packers quarterback’s coach Ben McAdoo will interview on Saturday.
  • Josina Anderson reports that the Giants will interview former Texans quarterbacks coach Karl Dorrell for their offensive coordinator position.

It appears as though they are the top two candidates for the job, although more names could be added at some point in the near future.

Last week, Giants OC Kevin Gilbride officially announced that he will be retiring from the NFL following another disappointing offensive season for the team.

Rumors have been circulating for a few weeks now that former Buccaneers OC Mike Sullivan could return to the Giants as their new offensive coordinator after he was recently dismissed.

Conor Orr reports that Sullivan will in fact be interviewing for the job this Wednesday.

Sullivan coached for the Giants from 2004 until 2011 before taking the coordinator job with the Buccaneers. He coached both receivers and quarterbacks, so it’s hard to imagine the Giants finding a guy who could make as seamless of a transition as Sullivan could.

We’ll have more regarding the Giants offensive coordinator job as the news is available.
