Update:

Charles Robinson reports that the Eagles are still in talks with veteran RB Frank Gore and have “strong interest” in signing him.

  • According to Rand Getlin, Gore has a contract on the table from the Eagles that would pay him an annual salary of $5 million and include $7 million guaranteed.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the 49ers believe they will lose RB Frank Gore in free agency and have already started looking around at other running backs.

We’ll have more regarding Gore and who the 49ers could be targeting as the news is available.

Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area reports that the Colts and free agent RB Frank Gore have “mutual interest” in working towards an agreement that would bring him to Indianapolis.

This comes just hours after Eliot Shorr-Parks of NJ.com reported that the Eagles have expressed “serious interest” in Gore. According to Shorr-Parks, a deal with Gore could get done as early as Tuesday.

Earlier in the week, 49ers CEO Jed York said he thinks they’ll be able to get a deal in place with Gore at some point.

We want him back,” York said. “I think he wants to be here. I know he wants to be here. And I think we’ll figure out a way to do it. We’ll definitely try. I think we’ll figure out a way. That’s my feeling.

However, it appears as though the 49ers have some serious competition for Gore in the days leading up to the start of free agency.

Gore, 31, played out his three-year, $19,212,550 contract with the 49ers, which included $13.5 million guaranteed.

In 2014, he ran for 1,106 yards on 255 carries (4.3 YPC) to go along with 11 receptions for 111 yards receiving and five touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has Gore rated as the No. 26 running back out of 57 qualifying players.

We have Gore listed as the No. 37 player in our Top 100 Free Agents list.
