Report: Ndamukong Suh To Announce Partnership With Jay-Z

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported earlier Tuesday morning that Lions DT Ndamukong Suh is expected to announce “some type of agreement” with Jay Z and Roc Nation.

Suh fired his agents last month and speculation has consistently mentioned that Jay Z was likely to join Suh in some capacity.

Schefter adds that it remains uncertain as to whether or not Jay Z will be involved in negotiations of a contract for Suh that could be coming this offseason. According to Schefter, Jay Z is expected to be in Suh’s circle of advisers.

Suh, 27, still has two years remaining on his current contract, but his 2015 season is voidable. With the Lions currently projected to be over the salary cap next year, it seems very likely that they will approach Suh regarding a long-term extension that will keep him under team control for the foreseeable future while also offering them some much needed cap relief.

Suh is scheduled to count $22.4 million against the Lions’ cap in 2014. He totaled 48 tackles, 5.5 sacks and one forced fumble in 16 games for Detroit this past season.
