Report: NFL “Likely” To Implement A Pro Bowl Draft

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that it’s becoming “increasingly likely” that the NFL will implement a draft format for future Pro Bowls.

Here are some of the earlier details included in the NFLPA’s proposal:

  • The Pro Bowl voting system of fan and team selections would likely remain intact.
  • Team captains or other parties would select players.
  • Very likely” to be aired on a primetime televised selection show.
  • The 2014 game will still be played in Hawaii.

La Canfora adds that the idea continues to “generate positive momentum” and there are “no dissenting voices” regarding the matter.

The league is hoping to have the details sorted out following the upcoming draft, but are reportedly to dedicating “significant time and resources” to idea.

Who knows if these changes will translate to a better product on the field, but it sounds at least somewhat interesting in my opinion.
