Report: “No Chance” Robert Griffin III Plays In Week 8

Dianna Marie Russini of NBC Washington reports that multiple sources have informed her that there is “NO chance” of Robert Griffin III playing in Monday’s game against the Cowboys.

Instead, Russini reports that Colt McCoy will start for Washington with Kirk Cousins as his backup.

This, of course, means that RGIII will be inactive for Monday’s game.

Redskins HC Jay Gruden told reporters on Wednesday that he expects to make a decision regarding RGIII’s status for Week 8 some time tomorrow.

RGIII reportedly took the first quarterback rep during Wednesday’s practice, but that alone isn’t enough to suggest he’s ready to return from his dislocated ankle.

McCoy took over for Cousins at halftime during Week 7’s game against the Titans and wound up completing 11-of-12 passes for 128 yards and a touchdown. Washington also won the game.

We’ll have more updates as the news is available.
