Report: One GM Believes A Team Will Trade Up To No.1 Overall For Cal QB Jared Goff

An NFL GM tells Matt Miller of B/R that teams will fall in love with Cal QB Jared Goff once they have one-on-one interviews with him in the coming weeks.

In fact, the GM said that he expects some team to trade up to No. 1 overall with the Titans to get Goff.

Miller says that teams have been raving about how smart Goff is and they aren’t concerned about the offense he played in at Cal.

Miller’s source added that he considers Goff to be the smartest quarterback since Andrew Luck.

A number of reports have said that the Titans are still shopping the No. 1 overall pick and looking for trade options, so if a team is really in love with Goff, Tennessee would likely be willing to move back, assuming the compensation is reasonable.

There has been a lot of buzz about Carson Wentz being the top quarterback in this year’s draft, but it appears as though there’s a chance Goff could be the first signal caller to come off the board.

During his three years at Cal, Goff threw for 12,195 yards while completing 62.3 percent of his passes to go along with 96 touchdowns and 30 interceptions over the course of 37 games.
