Report: One Team Contacted 49ers About Colin Kaepernick, But They’re Not Interested In Trading Him

Ian Rapoport reports that one team called the 49ers about QB Colin Kaepernick‘s availability. However, San Francisco reportedly told them that Kaepernick was not available for trade.

49ers GM Trent Baalke shot down the rumors that they’ve discussed trading Kaepernick shortly after the reports surfaced late last night.

Colin is our quarterback and we are excited to have him,” Baalke said in a statement, via CSN Bay Area. “He is not going anywhere. The media reports suggesting otherwise are without merit and, quite frankly, ridiculous.

Jayson Braddock originally reported the 49ers have put Kaepernick on the trade block and are in the process of fielding offers from teams. According to Braddock, the Eagles and Bears both inquired about a trade.

Earlier in the day, reports said that Kaepernick was one of the reasons why they hired Geep Chryst as their offensive coordinator, after the quarterback offered his support for Chryst getting the job.

It certainly would be surprising to see the 49ers move their quarterback after all that has transpired in the Bay Area in the past few months.

We’ll have more updates as the news is available.
