Report: Owners Saying No To Taking WR Dorial Green-Beckham In Round One

Matt Miller reports that there are coaches and general managers around the league that are “all in” on former Missouri/Oklahoma WR Dorial Green-Beckham as a player. However, Miller mentions that team owners have said that they’re not comfortable taking him in round one.

According to Miller, it would probably take a unique situation where an owner implicitly trusts the head coach or general manager making this call for DGB to come off the board in round one.

One team tells Miller that although they would love to take him in the first-round, their owner won’t allow them to do so. The source added that whoever takes him will likely need to provide someone to follow DGB around the clock like a babysitter until he can prove to be trustworthy.

If there were to be a team that could take a chance on Green-Beckham in round one, Miller suggests the Ravens as team that could make this work.

There are obvious concerns regarding Green-Beckham after his arrests for possession of marijuana, and the incident in which he reportedly forced his way into Missouri student’s apartment and pushed her down a set of stairs.

While teams can see his obvious talent, these aren’t just minor concerns, so it really wouldn’t be shocking to see him drop out of round one.

During his two years at Missouri, Green-Beckham caught 87 passes for 1,278 yards receiving and 17 touchdowns.

We have the Chiefs taking Green-Beckham at No. 49 overall in our recently updated two-round NFL Mock Draft.
