Ahmad Bradshaw Leaves Visit With Steelers Without A Contract

Update:

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that free agent RB Ahmad Bradshaw left his visit with the Steelers without a contract.

Schefter adds that the two sides are expected to “keeping the lines of communication with him open.

  • Aditi Kinkhabwala of the NFL Network reports that free agent Bradshaw is taking a physical for the Steelers right now and, assuming everything checks out, “they will try to sign him.”
  • Aditi Kinkhabwala reports that the Steelers “would really like” to sign free agent RB Ahmad Bradshaw..
  • Ian Rapoport reports that Bradshaw is expected to meet with the Steelers on Thursday.

So far, the Jets and Packers have also been linked to Bradshaw in the past few weeks. He previously mentioned that his plan was to wait until his foot is closer to being 100 percent before meeting with interested clubs.

Clearly, Bradshaw’s physical will be a very important consideration for any team considering adding him to their roster.

We have Bradshaw listed as the No. 12 player in our recently updated Top 50 Free Agents list.

Update:

Free agent RB Ahmad Bradshaw mentioned that although he’s drawn interest from the Jets, Packers and Steelers since being released by the Giants, his plan is hold off on meeting with teams until his surgically repaired foot is healed.

“I’ve decided not to work out with teams yet,” said Bradshaw during an interview with ESPN Radio in New York, via the Newark Star-Ledger. “I want to be as healthy as I can be, I want to be explosive, and I want teams to see what they are able to get. Right now, I’m working on that, and I think it’s coming along faster and faster. I’m walking around without the boot.

Bradshaw had his protective boot removed in recent weeks, so he is improving, but there are concerns that his running style is going to continue to wear on his foot.

In regards to the aforementioned teams, previous reports indicated that Packers and Steelers had interest, but made no mention of the Jets being a potential option. Shortly after his release, Bradshaw said that he would like to remain in New York, rather relocate, so this could be his preferred option at this point.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Packers and Steelers have both shown interest in free agent RB Ahmad Bradshaw.

Since being released by the Giants, there has been very little buzz surrounding Bradshaw. He’s coming off of multiple foot surgeries, so there’s a good chance that this has impacted the level of interest thus far. Bradshaw is still only 26-years-old and has been pretty effective when healthy.

Green Bay has over $18 million in cap space to work with and could clearly use some additional help at running back. They were reportedly interested in Steven Jackson before he signed with the Falcons, so we’ll have to see what their level of interest is in Bradshaw.

Pittsburgh has also been linked to some of the free agent running backs, but unlike the Packers, they have limited cap room to pursue free agents. It’s doubtful that Bradshaw would require much in terms of salary, so there’s a chance they could work something out.
