Panthers LT Jordan Gross Retiring From The NFL

Update:

———-

Joe Person, citing a source close to the situation, reports that the Panthers LT Jordan Gross will announce his retirement from the NFL on Wednesday.

Panthers GM Dave Gettleman told reporters last Thursday that Gross was still weighing his options next season, but it appears as though Carolina will now be in the market for a starting left tackle.

Gross, 33, played his entire career in Carolina and was a three-time Pro Bowl selection. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 3 left tackle in the league this past season.

The Panthers have freed up around $7.25 million in cap space by reworking some contracts in the past few days, but this could complicate their ability to lock up DE Greg Hardy seeing as they will need to find a replacement.

We had Gross listed as the No. 45 player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
