Report: Patriots Concerned That Chandler Jones Could Be Done For The Season

Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald reports that the Patriots fear that DE Chandler Jones‘ hip injury could be bad enough to keep him out for the remainder of the 2014 regular season.

According to Howe, the best case scenario for Jones right now is that he’ll miss six weeks, but New England reportedly is not optimistic about him being back sooner than later.

Assuming Jones is able to return after six weeks, he would be back in time for their Week 13 match up against the Packers.

Jones, 24, is already among the best pass rushers in the NFL and has recorded 26 tackles, 4.5 sacks, a forced fumble and a recovery over the course of seven games.

Pro Football Focus has Jones rated as the No. 9 outside linebacker in a 3-4 defense this year and a well above average pass rusher.

We’ll have more updates regarding his status as the news is available.
