Tom Curran of CSNNE.com reports that the Patriots are re-signing veteran S Patrick Chung on Thursday.
Chung, 26, was a former second-round pick of the New England Patriots back in 2009. He wound up signing a three-year contract worth $10 million that included $4.25 million guaranteed with the Eagles last year.
In 2013, Chung appeared in 12 games this past season and totaled 59 tackles, one fumble recovery and three pass defenses.
Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 71 safety out of 84 qualifying players. According to their rating, Chung was one of the worst coverage safeties in the league.
