Report: Patriots Reach Agreement With WR Brandon LaFell

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Patriots have reached an agreement with WR Brandon LaFell.

  • Scehfter adds that LaFell receives a three-year deal from New England.
  • Ian Rapoport reports that LaFell is expected to receive a three-year contract worth $11 million.

Recent reports mentioned that LaFell was in talks with the Panthers about a possible return, but the Patriots were looking to bring in another receiver.

The former third-round pick of the Panthers has yet to develop into the kind of player many thought he was capable of becoming, but he is coming off of a respectable 2013 season.

Last year, LaFell appeared in all 16 games for the Panthers and caught 49 passes for 627 yards receiving and five touchdowns.

Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 93 receiver in the league last year.
