Report: Raiders Have A “Massive Crush” On Fresno State QB Derek Carr

David White of The Fresno Bee reported over the weekend that the Raiders have a “massive crush” on the Fresno State QB Derek Carr.

However, White believes the Raiders are more inclined to trade back in the draft and grab him at later point, rather than using the No. 5 overall pick on him.

White adds that the recent acquisition of QB Matt Schaub buys them time to groom a young quarterback prospect like Carr, instead of handing him the starting job right out of his first training camp.

This isn’t the first time Carr’s name has come up in connection to the Raiders.

Sam Farmer of the Los Angeles Times previously mentioned that the Raiders liked Carr more than Johnny Manziel coming out of the Scouting Combine.

The Raiders entire coaching attended Carr’s Pro Day last week, so all signs seem to suggest that he is on their radar, even if it proves to be more smoke than anything else.
