Report: Raiders Hiring Mike Tice As OL Coach

Mike Sliver of NFL Media reports that the Raiders are adding Falcons OL coach Mike Tice in the same capacity.

ESPN’s Adam Caplan previously reported that new Raiders HC Jack Del Rio was likely target Tice as his offensive line coach, but reports later mentioned that the Falcons denied their request.

Apparently, something changed in the minds of the Falcons, which could have something to do with the preference of their head-coaching candidates. Although, that’s pure speculation on my part.

Tice did a decent job with an offensive line group that wasn’t all that talented, even after they added first-round pick OT Jake Matthews last year.

FootballOutsiders.com has the Falcons offensive line rated as the No. 14 run-blocking unit and the No. 11 pass-blocking group in the league this past year.
