Report: Raiders & Lions Could Swap Picks In The First-Round

Tony Pauline of TFY Draft Insider reports that the Raiders are expected to consider trading their No. 3 overall pick to the Lions for the No. 5 selection if one of the either Luke Joeckel or Eric Fisher are available to them.

Pauline adds that Oakland would then target either Sharrif Floyd or Star Lotulelei with the No. 5 pick.

This would require the Jaguars to take someone like DE Dion Jordan at No. 2 overall. There’s been a lot of buzz in recent days that Jacksonville is likely to take one of the two top offensive tackles, which could allow the Raiders to field offers for the right to take Oklahoma OT Lane Johnson.

  1. If the Lions are guaranteed to get Fisher or Joeckel, I’d do it, it will likely cost the Lions a 5th to move up 2 slots

      • Great points. The Browns traded a 4th, 5th, and 7th round pick to move up one spot for RB Trent Richardson, so it seems likely that it would either be a mid-round pick or a similar package to make this move.

    • More like a mid to late round 2nd. Point value difference between the 3rd pick and 5th pick is 500. The 8th pick in the 2nd round (40) is valued at 500. 5th rd picks range from 43-27 value points. Not happening, Try Again.
