Report: Raiders Owner Mark Davis Has “Intensified His Desire” To Move To Los Angeles

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports Raiders owner Mark Davis has “intensified his desire” to move the team back to Los Angeles.

According to La Canfora, Davis hasĀ been “spending oodles of time in the area.

However, the NFL would reportedly prefer to give the Los Angeles market to anĀ ownership group other than Davis given that his father had already left Southern California year ago.

La Canfora adds that Davis doesn’t have the necessary real estate, marketing and overall business savvy that would be required to handle such a move.

Davis and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones both spoke to reporters on Tuesday about the idea of an NFL team being back in L.A. and, by all appearances, it looks like Jones supported Davis relocating the Raiders back to the area.

La Canfora mentions that the sense of urgency from “several” parties to get to L.A. has increased.

Should the NFL try to get another ownership group involved in a possible relocation, you would have to think that Rams’ owner Stan Kroenke would be at the top of the list based on the fact that he already owns a usable plot of land in Los Angeles and the team is in a tough negotiating with the city of St. Louis regarding their current stadium.

The Chargers are another team also in the discussion to possible relocate toĀ Los Angeles as well.
