Report: Raiders Owner Rejects Request To Give Coaching Staff Extensions

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Raiders’ owner Mark Davis has rejected HC Dennis Allen‘s request to give extensions to his assistant coaches.

The fact that Davis is neglecting to give his assistants an extension in the final year of their contract is a fairly ominous sign for Allen’s status as head coach moving forward.

Mike Silver of the NFL Network previously reported Allen is “very much on the hot seat,” so this news further illustrates the fact that sweeping changing could come in 2014.

The Raiders are currently 4-10 and will end the season with a trip to San Diego to face the Chargers before hosting the Denver Broncos.

If rumors are to be believed, Allen’s job will depend on the effort and performance of the team’s roster in the final two games of the season, but even then it could already be too late.
