Report: Raiders RB Maurice Jones-Drew Expected To Miss Week 2’s Game

Scott Bair of CSN Bay Area, citing multiple sources, reports that Raiders RB Maurice Jones-Drew will miss the team’s home opener against the Houston Texans.

The Raiders have yet to announce an anything official regarding Jones-Drew’s status for Week 2.

Reports from earlier in the week mentioned that Jones-Drew recently underwent a procedure on his hand, which he confirmed following Thursday’s practice.

The hand feels fine,” Jones-Drew said. “There is no pain. We need to get the swelling down. That’s the main issue.

Darren McFadden is expected to start in Jones-Drew’s place if he’s unable to suit up on Sunday.

Jones-Drew ran for 11 yards on nine carries against the Jets in Week 1. He also caught two passes for 12 yards.

We’ll have more updates as the news is available.
