Report: Raiders Reach An Agreement With DE Andre Carter

Josina Anderson is reporting that she’s been informed that the Oakland Raiders have reached an agreement with DEĀ Andre Carter on a one-year deal.

Carter, 33, hasn’t found a lot of interest during free agency, but the Raiders were in desperate need of some defensive line help after losingĀ Matt Shaughnessy and Desmond Bryant this offseason.

Last year, Carter played in 12 games for the Raiders, but only tallied 2.5 sacks. According to Pro Football Focus, Carter was actually more effective against the run than rushing the passer, but that could change if the Oakland ends up hands him an increased role.

Raiders have finally begun to fill out their roster in recent days. They added Tracy Porter and Mike Jenkins to their secondary, but still have a number of holes to address in either the draft or in free agency.
