Report: Raiders Sign First-Round Pick OLB Khalil Mack

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Oakland Raiders have signed first-round pick OLB Khalil Mack to a contract on Thursday.

  • Albert Breer reports that Mack’s four-year contract is worth $18,677,002 fully guaranteed.
  • Jason Fitzgerald mentions that Mack should receiving a signing bonus of around $11.9 million.

This is not only the first draft pick that the Raiders have gotten under contract, but Mack is also the highest drafted player to sign his rookie deal.

Oakland reportedly didn’t expect Mack to be available to them at No. 5 overall, so I’m sure they are absolutely ecstatic that they came away with an impact player in round one.

Some evaluators like Mike Mayock actually believe Mack is a better player than No. 1 overall draft pick Jadeveon Clowney.

The Raiders poured a lot money into rebuilding their front seven, so I can’t wait to see what Mack is capable of in his first year in the league.

Last year, Mack totaled 100 tackle — 19 of which were for a loss — 10.5 sacks, three interceptions, five forced fumbles and two defensive touchdowns.
