Raiders Could Make Changes As Early As Tonight

Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reports that the Oakland Raiders are expected to start making changes to their coaching staff as soon as this afternoon.

Glazer mentions that the team will most likely keep first-year head coach Dennis Allen in place, but offensive coordinator Greg Knapp will not be brought back for another season.

Knapp’s offensive production speaks for itself and deserves the criticism that has been directed towards the unit. His reluctance to adjust his offensive scheme to better fit the skill set of his player’s warrants a change.

The Raiders will end the season with a one dimensional offense that constantly struggled in the red zone and saw regression from both RB Darren McFadden and WR Darrius Heyward-Bey after decent 2011 seasons.

It will be interesting to see who surfaces as a possible replacement.

  1. good… I hope I hear this news by tomorrow morning. How do you go from 9th overall offense without McFadden to the bottom of the league in rushing? We passed on 1st down 2nd down and 3rd and it continued even with Pryor in the game… He was a QB coach in Houston and that’s what he should be moving forward….. but not in Oak!
