- Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Ayers receives a two-year, $6 million deal with $3 million guaranteed.
- The deal can be worth $10 million if he reaches incentives.
Wagoner mentions that there is a lot of familiarity in building with Ayers given he worked with DC Gregg Williams in Tennessee.
Ayers, is an intriguing free agent given that he really came on for New England after they traded a 2015 sixth-round pick to the Titans in return for him.
Tennessee used a second round pick on him back in 2011, but he wasn’t able to live up to his draft status with them, which led to him being inactive a few times this past season.
In 2014, Ayers appeared in 11 games last year and recorded 23 tackles, four sacks, an interception and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 30 outside linebacker in a 3-4 defense out of 46 qualifying players.
We had Ayers listed as the No. 61 player in our Top 100 Free Agents list.
