Report: Rams Have “Discussed” Signing QB Tim Tebow

Update:

Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Dispatch confirms that free agent QB Tim Tebow is “not coming to St. Louis.”

According to Jason La Canfora, the Rams have “no desire” to sign Tim Tebow and “are not mulling” the idea.

  • La Canfora believes HC Jeff Fisher would not even consider making this move.

Mike Silver of the NFL Network reports that that the St. Louis Rams have discussed the idea of signing QB Tim Tebow.

  • Silver believes it’s unlikely that the Rams will actually sign him to a contract.

Starting QB Sam Bradford went down with what appears to be a very serious knee injury, and reports following the game indicate that Bradford could be done for the season.

As things stand right now, the Rams have Kellen Clemens as the likely replacement for Bradford, so it makes sense that they would consider some of the available options even if Bradford can return at some point.

Tebow was last with the Patriots, but was cut loose before the start of the regular season. There was a report that indicated Tebow received an “inquiry” from an undisclosed team, but there has been no buzz since then regarding a return to the NFL.

It’s worth noting that the Rams did show interest in Tebow before Denver traded him to the Jets.

We’ll have more regarding Tebow and the Rams as the news is available.
