Report: Rams Sign QB Shaun Hill

ESPN’s Adam Caplan reports that the Rams are expected to sign veteran QB Shaun Hill to a one-year contract.

  • Ian Rapoport reports that Hill’s contract is worth $1.75 million and includes incentives that could bring his salary to $2.25 million.

Hill was scheduled to meet with the Rams on Monday and should be an upgrade to Kellen Clemens who recently signed with San Diego.

Jim Thomas reported on Tuesday that Hill’s market may have been affected by a recent foot surgery.

Hill, 34, signed a two-year deal with the Lions back in 2012 and spent the past two years backing up Matthew Stafford in Detroit.

He’s considered to be one of the better backup quarterback options in the league, but he hasn’t seen a lot of action since 2010 when he played in 11 games for Detroit. During that season, Hill completed 61.8 percent of his passes for 2,686 yards to go along with 16 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
